    strange, i have it set to “yes” on the webinterface, but when i looked at mt-daap.conf, it seems like that section is actually still commented out (# compress 0). so i’m not sure what it is anymore, i’m just glad that it’s working.

    actually nevermind..i read further and there’s a section that reads:

    # Truncate
    #
    # should the server truncate the log files on startup.
    # Defaults to zero
    truncate = 1
    logfile = firefly.log
    password =
    compress = 1
    [scanning]

    Wow, so it’s *only* working iwth compression? Eeek.

    i turned off compress and restarted the server. my itunes client is still picking up the firefly server. hmm…so i guess something else must have changed that i’m not aware of. will update if i can figure it out.
