just a short hint from me:
Yesterday I installed the codepage-850 kernel module (as Im a West European), I figured it wont hurt, in favor of NTFS partitions and whatnot.
Then I remounted the NTFS and since then mt-daapd flies!
The time it takes the nslu2 now to send data for all artists to the soundbridge was cut down by at least factor 4!
I dont quite get the background as the DB doesnt reside on the NTFS, but still. Maybe the speed improvement from faster swapfile (which is on the NTFS) anyway, Im happy now. 🙂
