    …but I was kind of disappointed. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Tell me about it ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Ok, tested a few things.

Apparently playlists appear in both rhythmbox and amarok if they are .m3u’s, but unplayable. (smart playlists nowhere to be found)

I forgot that I had iTunes7 installed so that didn’t work. The share did appear in rhythmbox/banshee, but got a connection error. (manually connecting in amarok also errored out.)

iTunes handled the Firefly playlists without a problem. (both .m3u’s and smart playlist, listing .url files)
The share appeared twice for some reason though.

Guess one have to wait until rhythmbox/banshee/amarok advances the daap handling then. ๐Ÿ™‚

btw, do you know any other player that handles daap better in linux?

Sadly, no. I found rhythmbox the most stable, but kind of feature-poor. Banshee I had a number of problems with — cpu utilization, slow scanning speed, other stuff.

Amarok I kind of liked, but I’m normally running gnome, and loading all the kde stuff seems so bloated, I don’t run it. Not that gnome is svelte, but the two of them together… blarg.

Consequently, I use rhythmbox and just kind of live with the missing features.
