Success! It started up. I then went to log into the webpage to configure, etc. and it wouldn’t let me in with the default login (admin) and password. I tried changing the password in the mt-daapd config file, still wouldn’t let me.

Is there something I am missing?

The mt-daapd password is different from he admin password. If you changed the admin password in the config file, that will be the one to use (admin_pw, right?). But you have to stop and restart the server to do that (/opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd will restart)

    I still can’t log in….

Just to make sure I stated the correct configuration page, I am logging into http://mss:3689/ (where mss is the IP of my MSS drive).

Is there any other place that a password is stored, or could I have originally been talking about the wrong admin password before?

I am excited that it actually restarted, but now I am at a complete loss!

Looks like it’s the mss-ld-so that makes it go sideways. Let me mess with mine and see if I can get it to work.

Do you think that is it? I’m wondering if the program is having difficulty downloading components to the MSS, but I can’t follow the directions for how to download the required files, and then move them to the Maxtor.

By the way, I can enter the telnet commands either at the default path in my system promt (C:Documents and SettingsCompaq_Owner>) or at the MSS directory (Y:>)

Does it make any difference? I tried both, but still got the “magic” error message.

Please help – I’m really jonesing to get things working again on the Roku without having to turn on the PC.

I’m doing my best to follow the various recommendations I am reading, but I am struggling. The last thing I tried was setting the default gateway to = the drive IP. Now both the drive IP address and default gateway are 192.168.1.102. The gateway was 192.168.1.1

Just to make sure everything stuck, I rebooted my PC, and next I tried following the directions again. And I got this:

    BusyBox v1.00-pre2 (2006.02.01-23:21+0000) Built-in shell (msh)
Enter ‘help’ for a list of built-in commands.

If anyone can help me get this working, I will appreciate it.

Your gateway was fine. You downloaded the files fine at first, right?

try doing an “ipkg remove mss-ld-so” and see if you can then install ncurses and nano.

Also, you’ll need to use putty (google for it) rather than windows telnet in order to edit the files you need.
