If mDNS is built into mt-daapt, do I need to install Avahi or Howl ?

    I’m a little confused.

Nope. But if you have avahi or howl, you need to compile mt-daapd with –enable-avahi or –enable-howl to use them instead of the built-in one.

    Thank you.

I did some more reading and it would appear that if mt-daapt is going to be my only mDNS service then for ease I should use the built in one.

If I’m going to have multiple services that require mDNS then using an external one is the way to go.

On a different note, is there a newer list of ./configure flags and switches than the one in the wiki?

Hrm… no, but I’ll update it tomorrow.
