Well
i manage to instal cvs 20050713 but itune 4.9.0.17 cant seems to see the server.
any know issues i am not aware of ?25/07/2005 at 9:24 AM #3505rpeddeParticipantThe only thing I can think are the two well known issues:
1. Firewall stopping traffic to 224.0.0.251 udp port 5353.
2. Multiple mDNS responders… if you are running howl, make sure that howl is running, and that mt-daapd was configured with –enable-howl. Conversely, if it wasn’t configured with –enable-howl, make sure howl isn’t running.
That’s about it.

25/07/2005 at 11:23 AM #3507zapzapParticipantWell,
i did some test and it’s appear than on Wireless Network Itunes cannot see the mt-dappd Server
i use a laptop as test machine and here is the result :
laptop Run :
– Windows XP pro
– Itunes 4.9.017
– Firewall Off* laptop on wireless network : cannot see the Server
* Laptop on wired network : Can See the ServerDo somebody have any experience with this issue ?
25/07/2005 at 12:13 PM #3508MikeParticipantOnly the exact same experience, and no solution. Windows XP laptop, wireless (802.11g) network with WPA encryption. I find that mt-daapd appears intermittently; if I leave the laptop for a few minutes (maybe 15 or whenever I finish a beer), mt-daapd will appear.
I find that my powerbook can find mt-daapd much easier than windows. As in it actually works right away. Also, I’ve been experiencing this since at least 20050620.26/07/2005 at 11:44 AM #3509rpeddeParticipantStrange, as none of the mdns code has changed since 0.2.1.1. Before actually.. since Januaryish.
And if it works on wired, but not wireless, I might think that perhaps the wireless router isn’t routing multicast?
Can’t think of what else it might be…
26/07/2005 at 6:33 PM #3510zapzapParticipantWell i dig a little bit more and it is not mt-dappd related.
because Itunes cannot see other itunes on my laptop either.so i will continue to check and hopefully found why , but ron dont worry anymore it is not mt-daapd issue 🙂
28/07/2005 at 6:05 AM #3511rpeddeParticipantWas pretty sure it wasn’t. 🙂
