How do I update?

G’Day,

I recently installed 1571 as my first version on my Synology CS-406. This was the first release for that platform. I see there is now a later version. How do I update to the latest one? Do I just install it like the previous version? Will that overwrite settings? If so, do I just need to keep a copy of the config file and drop it back in the right place after doing the update?

Right. You can download the ipkg, and then just “ipkg install /path/to/new/mt-daapd.ipk”.

It will prompt you about whether or not it should overwrite the config file.
