GLIBC_2.3 for Linksys Nslu2

Hi there,

on the latest nightly I receive the following error on the startup of mt-daapd: /opt/sbin/mt-daapd: /opt/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3′ not found (required by /opt/lib/libsqlite.so.0).

I am using V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.8-beta on Linksys Nslu2. Well, GLIBC_2.3 isn’t available on this particular distribution.

Does anyone has this new GLIBC compiled as ipk-file?

libc.so.6 is located in /lib/ not in /opt/lib.

at least in MY unslung 6.8, that is 😉

Well, physically it’s in /lib, but I have a symbolic link. Did you test the latest nightly with that Libc? The stable does not require Glibc 2.3

No I didnt. As it sais in my sig, Im quite happy with that version, and I dont intend on changing a running system 😉 (No pun intended)

Well, did you do a ipkg update, ipkg upgrade on your slug?

edit: Eek, discovered I didnt have that sig on this forums. Sig sync. 😉

Well, could you send me the “libc.so.6” via mail (you have a newer version I suppose). The ipk-package is only compiled with sqlite support. Which database did you configure in the config-file?

If I could run mt-daapd without sqlite-support… that would solve my problem. I have installed gdbm and upgraded/updated with ipkg but neither works. mt-daapd just want to start the sqliteengine…

Ok, hold your horses. 😉

the ipkg for the NSLU2 does run with sqlite (i think v3). If you installed the ipkg on a fresh unslung system, you might require other packages.
If you upgraded from 0.2.4 to the latest nightly, same game.

What version of mt-daapd did you upgrade from, if any?

MAke sure you install sqlite and sqlite3 ipkgs. The libc.so.6 I have came with unslung 6.8 itself.

jepp, bin von 0.2.4 auf “mt-daapd_svn-1515-1_armeb.ipk” gegangen. Ist ein frisches System und alle Pakete die es braucht sind installiert. Nur die libc.so.6 ist nicht 2.3 . Was für einen Eintrag hast du denn in deiner Config? Wenn man da eine andere Datenbankengine eintragen könnte…

Ok, dann ist der fall klar.
Bei 0.2.4 ist das DB backend gdb, und bei den nightlies so auch bei deiner version ist sqlite im einsatz.
Momentan ist es nicht möglich, ein anderes DB backend zu verwenden. Ron arbeitet aber daran 😉

Als erstes ist es notwendig, dir sqlite bzw sqlite3 zu installieren. Dann lass dir dein mt-daapd config file überschreiben, und zwar mit dem default file der (neuen) nightly version.
Das Format hat sich inzwischen geändert, und es gibt viele neue Optionen.

Im einfachsten fall passt du nur dein musikverzeichnis an, und eventuell das DB-verzeichnis.

Den Rest kannst im Web-interface konfigurieren. Der erste start wird ne zeitlang dauern, weil mt-daapd die DB neu anlegen muss. Erst dann steht das Webinterface auf port 3689 zur Verfügung. Dort kannst alles weitere einstellen. 🙂

Gibts einen speziellen Grund, warum du upgradet hast?

Schätze es ist hoffnungslos. Ich habe sqlite und sqlite3 installiert. Aber sqlite braucht eine glib 2.3 und die gibts nicht für die Openslug (ich hab’ sie nicht gefunden).

Ich habe das Standardconfigfile drin.

Es wundert mich nur, dass bei sir sqlite läuft (daher, hast du eine glibc 2.3?)

Naja, werd’ ich halt warten bis gdb auch implementiert ist.

Du verwendest Openslug? Na dann isses klar. Ich spreche ja auch von uNSLUng 😉
Da wird dir auch meine glibc nix nützen.
