Most definetely.
FirePlay uses RSP, not DAAP to connect. And RSP was only introduced around 1000-ish nightly builds. As performance and a lot of other things are better, I’d suggest you to update.
But keep a backup of your old install, and the song database handy, you never know what breaks ๐28/03/2008 at 12:56 PM #13952RigasWParticipantMhm,
could be a reason to buy one more slug …
Is there a list somewhere what is actually better now compared to my old version 0.2.3?

But that’s quite cumbersome. You can use fireplay, or fireflyclient now, you get a nice web-interface. Support for static playlists, and also for smart playlists are a lot improved.
It imports playlists and ratings from iTunes, does transcoding from virtually any format you’ve got a backend for to WAV, you can change debuglevels dynamically, ….. blabla soo viele neue sachen ๐30/03/2008 at 2:58 AM #13954pftGuestGreat tool, thanks for all your work on this.
Does anyone have any idea why the shuffle button might not be active? I am unable to get it to work, no matter if I have one or more albums in the queue. What am I missing?
Thanks for any help.

cant find a way to edit files to tell it to go through 3689. lost. You should be able to edit FirePlay.html to do this. In three spots, edit the file to “host=www.yourserver.com&port=3689”
If you want to, protect the directory using an ordinary .htaccess-file (assuming apache server).
Ah your right on it there. I actually found exactly what you mentioned on a page in this post, being so long took a while to find it. Can I suggest a dedicated spot in the Wiki for documentation, this program deserves it!

I think the fireplay interface is great, but i would like an option to remove the “download selected song” function. I would like to use FirePlay on a high school where the students should be able to stream songs but not to download them. Is this something that is easy to do Bo?thanks

Can you prevent the html from being edited? If yes, I can implement a variable “preventdownload=” which you can set to 1 if you just want to hide the download “button”.

OK, I’m on it. I will just grey out the button and disable the link if preventdownload=1.

I have not yet decided on how to switch between the songs in an album and the currently playing playlist. As of now the are the same, so if you select another album while playing a song, you will play a song from the newly selected album instead. This is bad, I know and I’m kind of “working” on it.
In other words, the shuffle is not yet implemented. You are not the faulty one! ๐
