I’ve been using firefly with my soundbridge for well over a year with absolutely no problems then over the last couple of days its been shutting itself down going from orange to reg within minutes or seconds.
I’ve cut and pasted this from the log:
Log file: firefly.log
2007-10-24 18:55:35 (20d22e4f): Starting with debuglevel 0
2007-10-24 18:55:35 (20d22e4f): Starting rendezvous daemon
2007-10-24 18:55:35 (20d22e4f): Initializing database
2007-10-24 18:55:36 (20d22e4f): Starting web server from C:Program FilesFirefly Media Serveradmin-root on port 9999
2007-10-24 18:55:36 (20d22e4f): Registering rendezvous names
2007-10-24 18:55:36 (20d22e4f): Serving 1150 songs. Startup complete in 1 seconds
2007-10-24 18:55:36 (20d22e4f): Rescanning database
2007-10-24 18:55:42 (20d22e4f): Query: INSERT INTO updated VALUES (1077)
2007-10-24 18:55:42 (20d22e4f): Error: unable to open database file
2007-10-24 18:55:42: AbortingI would really be greatful for any help but please bear in mind I am a complete novice at the IT / code stuff. I’ve tried to fix it myself looking at similar threads but quite often I don’t understand the replies!
Looking at the log I think the problem is that it cant open a database file. Would this be a particular song that I’ve ripped or downloaded? If so how do I find out which one so I can delete it? I also changed my virus checker from Norton to Mcafee a few days ago. Could this have any bearing?
If any help could be broken down into idiot proof, step by step points then that would be massively benefical.
Thanks
APD

I have checked the firewall settings and Bonjour, and Firefly both have full access permissions so I think I can rule out my firewall.
Still puzzled.

That’s probably a an antivirus thing… something is locking the database file (maybe to do a virus scan).
The nightlies (http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org) have workarounds for that, and should truck right along even with virus scanners.
