    Hi,

i use Firefly Version svn-1498 on an Ubuntu edgy box.

if i boot the machine the webinterface is reachable.

    Code:
    tail -f /var/log/mt-daapd.log

gives me the information that the server is uo and running.

    Code:
    ps ax |grep daap

    shows me 2 mt-daapd processes..

    ok..
when i start up rhythmbox on my laptop the share is not visible at all.

if i restart the server it pops up and everything is fine!

    Code:
    sudo /etc/init.d/mt-daapd restart

do you know what’s going on here?

it would be really nice if mt-daapd is visible after booting without a restart!

    thanks!

    greetings
    flo[/code]

    Ubuntu & Rhythmbox & daap?

Take a look at /etc/default/avahi-daemon … on Ubuntu all open ports are disabled by default, you have to manually enable it (in that file I think, it’s quite small und well-documented).

    AVAHI_DAEMON_START=1

has already been set to “1”…

avahi daemon is running on my edgy laptop.

firefly runs on a amd machine (Desktop)
    rhythmbox runs on the laptop….

    thanks for your quick reply
