Firefly never finishes "Starting"

mt-daapd/Firefly Version: 1.0 for Mac
Server Operating System: ?
Server Hardware: Macbook pro 2.2GHz Intel core 2 Duo
Operating system OS X 10.4.11
Client Device: iTunes 7.5 for Mac
Firewall turned off
itunes file on Buffalo Linkstation Pro

Firefly says that it is starting but never actually says that it is running.
My soundbridge says that the files are incompatible and that I should install Firefly or similar.
Should I see anything happening in itunes? (i can’t)
Can i fix this issue? i have already uninstalled and re-installed firefly.

If this is leopard, that’s a known issue. The 1.1b from roku should work though.

i’m still running Tiger I’m afraid.
i tried 1.1b though but the problem remains the same.

The other common issue is that the “share as” name is too long. Try changing it to something short, like “Firefly”
