buffering problems playing lossless files

I just installed firefly on my

Powerbook G4
Mac OSX 10.3.9

used wirelessly with an M1001

I find that apple lossless files have major buffering problems i.e. drop out every 10-20 seconds, but MP3 files play fine

I only wanted firefly for the lossless playback so this is frustrating….

Use search for more fun related to wireless performance. It is recommended that your “server” uses hardwired Ethernet if at all possible.

If you are really running two wireless streams (both the SoundBridge & your media “server” is wireless), you need to have a fairly robust wireless network. I can do it succesfully, but many can’t due to poor WiFi performance. (It needs to handle two stable and constant 1.4Mbps streams for uncompressed audio.)

And, as with everything wireless, there can be many casues….

Anyway, first off… remove wireless as a factor initially and see if it fixes your problem… then you can work on the actual problem.
