It appears that after moving to Vista (32) songs with Russian or French characters in the filename/tag do not play anymore. While browsing for artist/album non-English characters display correctly. Firefly version 1498 and the most recent beta firware on Roku (2.7b11). Any suggestions?

And the same build worked on XP, is that right?
08/03/2007 at 1:18 AM #9481gva0002ParticipantYes, soundbridge displays names correctly (i don’t use Itunes). Onlya after pressing play i get “Unable to play “…boxes…” / Play Next / Stop”
I used build 1376 on XP, tried 1498 today, and everything works with both builds. There’s more to it. I shared the WML library through Vista media sharing, and soundbridge was able to play the files. I also tried to convert ape to flac and tag the files in Russian under Vista. Soundbridge played FLAC files without any problems. I’ll experiment with re-tagging/renaming the WML files and/or converting them to FLAC under Visa (wanted to move everything to FLAC anyway) and see if something helps. I’ll post if I find the solution.

So to be sure — flac transcodes okay, even with non-latin filenames, but wma does not? Is that right?
18/03/2007 at 4:20 PM #9483gva0002Participantwell, it looks like it is really difficult to pinpoint what works and what does not… I just tried to experiment and converted 4 albums in ape format to flac and wml: 2 albums under XP (one converted to flac, one to wml), and 2 in Vista. The tags and filenames are in Russian. All 4 play without any problems. Older albums still do not play…
