    Hi
this happens on the 0.2.4 stable & the most recent (for me) svn-1206. I’m running an open-link linkstation (MIPSel). Not sure about which version of the id3 library I have.

When mt-daapd goes to scan the directory, it’s memory usage goes up to 99.9% over the period of about a minute. Then the system doesn’t respond, I’ve left it for a while but it never comes back.

It seems to be caused by an MP3 file that has a bad id3tag. I thought it may be badly encoded but by using mp3tag to change the tags it then can be scanned perfectly with no problem at all.

It’s reported in gspot as being 48000kHz (although I’m pretty sure its actually a standard 44100kHz file..)

I can email over the offending MP3 if anyone is interested.
    Many thanks
    Dave

you can mail it to ron at pedde.com, and I’ll see if the libid3tag guys want it.
