ParticipantHi!
You might know about this already. Anyways. 🙂
It seems like the (optional) password option in the configuration file doesn’t work correctly.
The first auth-part seems to work, where iTunes tries to get the library from mt-daapd, is denied, asks the user for the password, and tries again. When I enther the correct password iTunes succeeds to download the library, and my songs shows up.
But when I try to play a song, nothing happens. The mt-daapd log shows:

I didn’t. This might be an artifact of moving all the daap stuff to a plugin, though. All the auth handling stuff got redone. I may have screwed it up.
I’ll take a look at it.

ParticipantI have exactly the same problem but when I try to connect my itunes client to the server.
I don’t use password option at all and it seems that some files on the database can’t be “viewed” on itunes (like a bad xml parsing) and the whole database is rejected.
I investigate more on these files25/10/2006 at 1:48 PM #6873jiceher
Participantit is due to a playlist ! (no error on import and reading this playlist on database)

This is fixed in r1413, you’ll see it in next nightlies.

Awesome! Looking forward to r1413. 😀
I have a small question regarding the web interface. I hope it’s ok to ask you here. At the Server Status page, there are two buttons; Start Scan and Start Full Scan. What’s the difference between these two? I tried to figure it out by looking through some of the code, but without success.

The regular scan scans the mp3_dir, but it only checks for for files that have changed since the last scan.
The full scan dumps the entire database and reloads all the metadata from scratch.
Normally, when you want to have it pick up new songs, or changed to id3 tags, you can do a regular scan. When you update versions, it makes sense to do a full scan, since there might be new metadata in the db or something. Like maybe I might start picking up replaygain or something. In that case, you’d have to do a full scan to pick up the replaygain info.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that out. 🙂
Another offtopic quension;
Is there a IRC channel for this project? Would be nice. And once again; Great thanks to you for all the work you’ve put into this project. I’ve used it 4-12h/d during the two weeks I’ve had it running, and it’s great!

Just curious. I spend a fair (and regular) amount of time on my machine. I wouldn’t mind hanging out in an IRC channel helping out, and I’m sure there are those around here that would do so as well.
I just don’t know how to go about it. :/
