I did a fresh install… it started the scan at 22:42 and it’s 23:00 now and songs.db is only 2GB currently. I think it’s related to your updated WMA scan code. Yeah, my fault. πŸ™‚

Something got stuck… I think because it was a WMA V8 file… (I guess it’s good I keep V8 files around for regression testing.) Here is the log:

The last part just repeats forever. ❓ I’ll send you a sample…

So, in order to Firefly to run… I need to exclude my WMA content. D’oh!

By the way, as long as it doesn’t die on the scan… Firefly does now happily extract multiple composers from the WMA tags and insert them them into a single Firefly Composer entry. Cool.

Hrm… doesn’t like subheaders of length zero.

So my question would be, why put in a subheader of size zero?

I’ll look at that tonight. Probably someting I don’t quite understand about those subheaders. I have so few examples of wma files, and the subheader stuff is vendor specific, so I’m kind of guessing on the format of these.

Thanks for sending me the example.

Thanks, Ron. No idea why it’s like that… all I know is that some old content can exist like that. πŸ˜• Once that gets dropped in a nightly, I should have enough time to beat on it again… πŸ˜›

Right, I installed firefly on win32 for the first time.
Running XP SP2 on a rusty AMD ATHLON XP, if anyone cares.

this is what I got during the scanning in the log:

    2006-09-01 15:25:24 (c4050bdf): Rescanning database
2006-09-01 15:26:09 (625ccad1): Thread 63: could not read: Eine bestehende Verbindung wurde softwaregesteuert
    durch den Hostcomputer abgebrochen.

2006-09-01 15:27:13 (6262d2fc): Thread 86: could not read: Eine bestehende Verbindung wurde softwaregesteuert
    durch den Hostcomputer abgebrochen.

the text reads kinda “Thread xy: Could not read: an existing connection has been reset by host”

The scan goes on though, and I could watch the files increase via the web interface….?

That’s really less of an error than it is informational. Probably a thread serving up web pages and the browser fetched everything, so the browser closed the socket.

That’s normal. What’s your debuglevel, though? High, or default? If default, it probalby needs tuned down.

Is the “Bonjour” service only supported on the Windows version of the server? I use Ubuntu Linux and the server status page states that the service is stopped.

I noticed that when I installed SVN-1372, the log from the initial startup of the server indicated a debug level of 2, even though the config webpage indicated a level of 0. I changed the level from 0 to another value and then back to 0 on the webpage, restarted the server, and the debug level was 0. Perhaps this was fizze’s problem ?

    Yes, I can confirm this.

I noticed it until I twiggled with the config file manually. I think that the initial (read: default) config file isnt suited too well for the config app, perhaps ?
Im back at modifying the config file manually however, since Im used to that.
