I want to be able to have my Firefly server run when I’m not logged onto my Windows XP box – since it runs as a service, I figured that would be easy. The service is set to start automatically, yet when I reboot, it does not start. I can log in and manually start the service fine, but I would like it to run without logging on.
So I did some more digging and found that the firefly service wasn’t starting because it depends on the Bonjour service, which claimed to be in a ‘hanged’ state, even though when I check the Bonjour service, it is up and running.
That confused be a bit, so I just decided to download the latest Bonjour and re-install it.
That did the trick!
Charles.
