Well Hello There
Just took a peek into the new stuff. Nice. However, it would be nice
to have SSC enabled also for RSP plugin. There was some slight anomaly with RSP if the artist name starts with
an Ä letter. It gets sorted in Roku as * class and the name doesn’t
show correctly. Using DAAP it is in A class and shows also otherwise
just as it’s supposed to.–Rinne

Would you be willing to email me your db? [email protected]? I think it’s on the sb firmware side, but I want to doublecheck that.

I need to decouple it from the daap front end. Probably would help to move the daap output to a plugin as well. Would probably enforce better componentization.

need to rescan after patching, obviously.

What comes to SSC, actual output stuff is quite nicely isolated
to ssc.[ch], but yes, there are some uncomfortable links.I made a caching version of ssc script. It enables nicely ff/rw
operations when you access the server with itunes and is also
otherwise quite neat. However, it can only be used in a server
system with quite much memory and spare disc. I can contribute
the stuff later when I have time to repack it. Meanwhile maybe
you could give a gentle push to Roku people to implement ff/rw for
Soundbridge.–Rinne

Exactly. Sorry.

ff/rw would be nice. Wonder why they don’t do it? I’m not sure what kind of position I’m in to push that, but I’ll certainly use what little pull I have. 🙂
