Type the following into your telnet session:
cat /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd
and post the contents.

#08/10/2007 at 1:53 AM #11304IrisParticipantTry editing S60mt-daapd to look like this:
#!/bin/sh
# make sure our shared libraries are in the path.
# if we get /etc/ld.so.conf working, this export
# can be removed
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/lib
if [ -n "`pidof mt-daapd`" ] ; then
killall mt-daapd 2>/dev/null
fi
sleep 2
/opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-daapd/mt-daapd.confThen, power-off the MSS, wait until the LED goes completely out then power-on. Don’t try to logon right away – wait a few minutes as the server will be going through it’s start-up scan. After that try using Firefly’s web interface.
And let us know your results…

09/10/2007 at 1:46 PM #11307squashuaxParticipantHelp me out. All of the characters look the same to me. Do you see a space where one doesn’t belong, or what is the difference you see?
I do notice that this line,
“export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/lib”
which is now in mine based on your recommendation, is substantially different than the line suggested on the Open MSS forum, here:
http://www.openmss.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3981#p3981The problems that I’m having are that firefly does not start when the mss boots, does not start with “cat /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd”, only starts with “opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -f -c /opt/etc/mt-daapd/mt-daapd.conf -y &” and stops running on the MSS when I end the terminal session in putty.
Here is a comparison of the two init files. I can’t see the difference (or understand how it is going to solve the problem above).
Yours:
#!/bin/sh
# make sure our shared libraries are in the path.
# if we get /etc/ld.so.conf working, this export
# can be removed
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/libif [ -n “`pidof mt-daapd`” ] ; then
killall mt-daapd 2>/dev/null
fisleep 2
/opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-daapd/mt-daapd.confMine:
#!/bin/sh
# make sure our shared libraries are in the path.
# if we get /etc/ld.so.conf working, this export
# can be removed
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/libif [ -n “`pidof mt-daapd`” ] ; then

I typed “LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/lib /opt/bin/nano /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd” into the putty telnet session, then used ctrl+k to totally delete this:
sleep 2 /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c
/opt/etc/mt-daapd/mt-daapd.confAnd retyped
“sleep 2”enter
“/opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-daapd/mt-daapd.conf”
ctrl +o
enter
ctrl +x
enter
“reboot”
Then pressed the button on the MSS, and when I went back via putty/telnet and typed ps,
there it was!
I exited the telnet session, and closed putty with no problem.
Then I shut down the PC. No problem!
The only probelm I have now is that my iTunes library and playlists are not working properly.
Can anyone tell me what the settings in iTunes should be to get playlists created in iTunes to work on the MSS/Firefly through the Roku?
iTunes Settings:
“iTunes music folder location” ?
“Keep iTunes Music folder organized” ?
“Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to librbary” ?Firefly Settings:

There aren’t any, really. Just copy the ‘itunes music library’ from your “my music” folder into the folder on the mss that has all the artist names in it.
Then go into the web config and make sure that “process_playlists” and “process_itunes” are set to yes.
Then do a rescan from the config page and they should show up.
Might be slow if you have lots of large playlists, but that’s next up.
