    I gave permissions to everyone in my music folder (in an USB disk) with this command:

    chmod o+r -R /media/my_USB_Diskdd/mp3

    But I still get this message when trying to scan my music folder:

    :Rescanning Database
    :Starting Playlist Scan
    :Updating Playlist
    :Scanned 0 Songs (was 0) in 0 Seconds
    :opendir: permission denied
    :Error Rescanning….bad path?

    The directories also need to have +x to enter. Has nothing to do with mt-daapd but with how unix works.
