Front Row problem

    Server: Gentoo Linux running mt-daapd 0.2.4.2
    Clients: iTunes and Front Row in Mac OS 10.5.7, iTunes in Windows XP Pro

    Problem:
    iTunes on both machines finds the firefly server just fine. However, Front Row will not see the firefly server in its sources menu. Front Row will see other shared sources, just not mt-daapd. Anyone else have this issue?

    *bump*

    I’ve tried deleting all of the relevant prefs files, but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions at all? Preferably other than reloading Mac OS?

    I think I have it figured out if anyone is curious.

    My linux box is running as a samba server as well. The problem was that it wasn’t allowing guest to connect. So all I had to do was configure smb.conf to allow guests, and then configure permissions for the media share so that guests were read only, and then front row started seeing it again.
