Point is, to make it work fireflies transcoding script, or whatever means of transcoding to use, would actually have to do resampling. Well, downshifting to 16 bit and 44.1kHz shouldnt be too tough since its an even factor. 😉

Quality will suffer, though.

I guess that’s possible, but then you lose the whole point of having high-quality flac files. 🙂

Unfortunately this will be the result of resampling on-the-fly 🙁

Yes, but you could “just listen” to these via firefly on a soudnbridge, without going through proper downsampling.

As I take it the reason here are recordings of some sort, so I could still see a purpose.
