My issue is that Firefly is always “Starting” “Restarting” or “scanning” and thus I have never been able to access the web-based configuration settings. I just upgraded to the latest Mac version form the nightlies page and so far seem to have the same issue.
That being said, FF works just fine streaming all of my mp3 files under iTunes. My goal is to be able to get into the configurations setting and add a library so I can see if I an stream FLAC files.
For example, I get this in my log and never stops saying “Firefly is starting”:
2007-01-19 06:55:16 (a000cfc0): Firefly Version svn-1489: Starting with debuglevel 2
2007-01-19 06:55:16 (a000cfc0): Starting rendezvous daemon
2007-01-19 06:55:16 (a000cfc0): Starting signal handler
2007-01-19 06:55:16 (a000cfc0): Initializing database
2007-01-19 06:55:29 (a000cfc0): Starting web server from /Library/PreferencePanes/Firefly.prefPane/Contents/Resources/Firefly Helper.app/Contents/Resources/Server/admin-root on port 0
2007-01-19 06:55:29 (a000cfc0): Registering rendezvous names
2007-01-19 06:55:31 (a000cfc0): Serving 21342 songs. Startup complete in 15 seconds
2007-01-19 06:55:31 (a000cfc0): Rescanning database
2007-01-19 06:55:53 (a000cfc0): Starting playlist scan
2007-01-19 06:56:20 (a000cfc0): Scanned 21342 songs (was 21342) in 49 secondsPlease help!

Try changing your “share name” to something short, like “firefly”.

Holy smokes R-Man! It worked! I’m glad (for both of us) that I was so simple.
Thanks a bunch and have a nice weekend.

That was with 1489? It should have truncated it to an acceptable length. What was it before?

It has alway been like that, and i’ve never been able to get into the online configuration. Only difference is that now i’m trying to get my .flac files to stream so I need to be able to play with the configuration (will be posting to get help with that seperately).
Thanks again.
