Firefly does not see file when I change Artist Tag

I am trying to re-organize all of my music since I have switched to Ubuntu. I have found that some Artists were incorrectly set when I ripped them, so I edit the Artist tag. When I do this, the songs/albums disappear from my firefly server.

If I re-rip with the correct Artist name it is OK.

Any idea how to fix this short of re-ripping?

Hi,

does the program that you use to edit the “Artist” tag change the filename or the permissions / rights of the mp3 files?
Or does it change the location (directory), where the files are stored?

That might be an explanation.

I used Rhytmbox to change the tags. It did not change the directory or file name. (I haven’t checked the permissions, I’ll do that when I get home tonight).

I also downloaded a program called EasyTag. If I change the tags using that program, it works without screwing up my firefly. I am thinking it is a Rhytmbox issue.
