Hi,
I´ve just bought a NSLU2 device and a Pinnacle Soundbridge Home Music. The Server runs Unslung 6.8 (V2.3R63-uNSLUng-6.8-beta) and Firefly (svn-1545).
The problem is, that I can´t play the mp3 files located on the USB disc. The scan was successful, but when I try to play files the soundbridge says something like: “‘Title’ can´t be played!” Amazingly I can access the Tag information with the soundbridge.
Here is the logfile content for those events:

Does the problem still happen after you update to the latest Soundbridge firmware?

19/04/2007 at 8:54 PM #10229MetzelerParticipantOh, thats interesting! I´ve updated the soundbridge before installation of the NSLU. When I look at “Version Info” in the Soundbridge menu it says: 2.7.78! Another upgrade is not possible.

That’s it, probably. It should be *not* case sensitive. Change that flag, re-scan and it should be golden.

Ok, looks like I was on the wrong track then and Ron has found the actual problem for you (hopefully).
Funny – and awkward for server authors like Ron – that the header on the request from the Soundbridge seems to show a different/incorrect firmware version from what you have installed 🙁

Wow.. that is strange. Wonder if they won’t bump the version number until it’s a “stable” release. Or is 2.7 stable already? Maybe it’s just a plain ol’ bug. 🙂
20/04/2007 at 6:37 AM #10234MetzelerParticipantThanks for the hints, but it´s already set to “not” case sensitive. Version 2.7 is an official stable fw release from pinnacle.
Any other Ideas?

Well, according to Roku, 2.7.78 is a “stable” release. According to quite a few users, including me, there are some significant issues which appeared late in the beta testing which have been resolved by downgrading (by direct arrangement with Roku). I am working with 2.5.174 on my SBs, having downgraded before Roku made the last beta permanent.
20/04/2007 at 10:28 AM #10236MetzelerParticipantDo you know if it´s possible to downgrade from 2.7.78 to 2.5 and how does this work?
The only reason why I need 2.7.78 is the capability for WPA encryption for the Wifi interface. WEP is to insecure in my opinion, but if it works better with 2.5 I will change my wifi settings to WEP.
