I am running a LinkStation HG400 w. 0.73b OpenLink, daapd 0.2.4 installed via ipkg. The large library is on a USB disks. With some fiddling, everything seems to run ok. Log at level 3 look ok.
The library was created on a Windows system – so filenames and tags should not be an issue (apart from meta tags unknown to daapd.)
OS X iTunes 7.02 works great, Windows XP sees the server in the browser, but will show an error “not accessible” with error -3264.
The same Windows can access other Win XP and OS X based iTunes servers.
Any ideas, what could be the issue?

Do you get any logs that show it even tried to connect, or what it tried? It should fetch a /server-info, then possibly a /content-codes, /login, then start fetching stuff from /db. How far does it get? Does it try a /server-info and quit, or does it not even get to that.
On an unrelated note, the HG is a ppc box, right? What ipkg repository are you using to get that stuff from?

Fixed! I was hasty. Removing the multi homing cured the issue, but it required a reboot of not only the OpenLink NAS but also the Windows clients. It looks like the ports are cached some place, Bonjour perhaps?

BTW, the album images are embedded in the ID tags, but do not show. Is that a feature?

images don’t get sent as part of the catalog — would take too long to connect. Instead, iTunes pulls the image out of the file when it stream it, but you have to have you cover art browser set to “currently playing”, not “active selection”, or whatever.

Now, about video…
Make sure it’s m4a or mov, and add those extensions to your extensions list. Some issues with it, but that will generally work.
