Firefly was working properly until I changed its path to the Itunes directory that contains the Itunes library files, so my playlists would work.
After making that change Firefly said it was scanning, and it didn’t indicate it had stopped scanning after I left my computer and came back. So, I stopped the firefly server, and now it won’t start again.
If I try to start it manually, it immediately says that it failed to start.
-I’ve tried reinstalling with no change
-I’ve restarted several times with no change
-I checked the firefly log, and there’s no information there about an error.I checked the crashreporter and found the following:

What version is this? Also, when you uninstalled, could you check your ~/Library/Application Support/Firefly and make sure it got rid of everything in there?
Also, did you upgrade from an older version? I think maybe the thing to do would be:
1. Download the newest version from the roku site (1.0).
2. Open the dmg and run the uninstaller thing.
3. Delete anything in ~/Library/Application Support/Firefly
4. Reinstall taking all defaultsThen start it and see if it works. If that works, then try changing paths, etc.
I’m kind of puzzled, though. Seems strange.
28/11/2006 at 4:23 PM #7492fuzzydiceGuestThat didn’t resolve the problem. Firefly still “fails to start.”

14/12/2006 at 6:34 PM #7494fuzzydiceGuestI’m sorry, the person I was helping was mistaken about reinstalling not fixing his problem. Firefly is starting properly and serving music happily since the reinstall.
