For background, I am running Firefly on a headless windows xp box in my basement. I have a MacBook Pro which houses my iTunes library, and it is backed up to the windows xp box in the background. The problem is when I make changes to iTunes on my MacBook, and the backup application sees the changes and tries to move them to the windows box, it can’t, because the xml file has a lock on the windows box. Is it possible for firefly not to lock the file, but just poll it for changes?

If its locked, it’s because it’s actually being scanned. It does that every scanning pass, even if it hasn’t changed. htat’s clearly a bug, but there you go.

I’ll try and add “don’t scan unless changed” logic to the scanner though.
