I just update to svn-1236 on an debian-stable box.
There are no more debug-messages in syslog. Even if I set debuglevel = 9 in config-file. Nothing.
    There is no logfile defined.

    Any hints?

Run it -d9 -f, and see what it says. Now, only fatal errors go to syslog (or maybe fatal and -d1 errors, don’t remember offhand. Maybe I’m not opening the syslog soon enough, though. I’ll have to look at it.

Hmm. I think it’s not nescesary, that every song I listen to is listed in syslog, but a message on startup: “Hey you, I just start up and everything went well” would be nice …

    greetings, volker
