Hi, i’m testing Firefly in a Windows machine(Firefly Media Server (svn-1696).exe) and also in a Debian one (mt-daapd_0.9-svn-1696_edgy_i386.deb). The ratings of the musics appear in iTunes when i’m connected to the server in Windows, but the ratings don’t appear in iTunes when I’m connected to the Debian server, so I can’t do there a playlist with my favorites musics (four or five stars).

If the music files themselves don’t have rating info in the tags (POPM for id3v2, shareduserrating for wmp, etc), then it comes from the iTunes Music Library.xml. To pick that up on the debian machine, you’ll need to copy the iTunes Music Library.xml file from your windows machine (in My Music) to the music share on the debian box.

Ah, ok. That’s the difference! With the Firefly in the Windows machine I’m using the iTunes Music Library.xml to share the playlist, but don’t in the Debian (as I don’t have iTunes there… :-D).

    Thanks!
