Can’t Start Scan or Access Config

    Hi,

    I’m running Firefly on a Maxtor MSS.

    I think the problem may have started when I upgraded iTunes, but I’m not sure.

    I can’t access the server, even though it is running. My Soundbridge just says it can’t connect.

    And when I log in to the web admin, I can’t start a scan (I press it, but nothing happens) and when I go to the Configuration page, it’s just blank.

    Can anybody help?

    Could be several things. It’s probably worth upgrade to latest nightlies, as that fixes a problem in the web config.

    Should be able to do a “ipkg update” and “ipkg install mt-daapd” to pull the latest versions.

    And what version do you have now?

    what do you see when you do a “ps -auxw”?

    Something is broken there.. kill those mt-daapd processes and start it again. I wonder what’s making it go crazy like that.

    and then it stopped again!

    now I can’t get into the web admin at all, but I managed to play 30 seconds of a song on my soundbridge first!

    ok, I know a bit more know

    I rebooted the whole thing, and before I did anything else, these are the processes that were running to do with mt-daapd

    I then did

    kill 239

    and it worked for about 60 seconds of music without me actually starting anything.

    Once it stopped, I started the server with init.d/S60mt-daapd and it worked again.

    When it’s running with nobody connected, you should see 4 processes. One is the mdns process, the others are actually threads.

    So that’s normal. If you have those four, you should be able to play songs normally. What I’m wondering is if you play songs, do those processes just build up? Or what?

    And do you get any messages in your syslog?
